Feb. 21 John spent the morning making the “sinful cookies” and only ate a few when they were done. Such restraint!

Feb. 22 Today was $2 Tuesdays at Sampson so several of us went over and had baby burgers and chili and everything was good and inexpensive to boot. We had some new friends, Sam & Suzie, over for a potluck dinner of mackerel and mahi mahi with rice and vegetables and ice cream form dessert. We taught them how to play Biriba and they liked it.

Feb. 23 It was a beautiful calm day so we decided to launch the laser and take it for a spin. John was at the helm and I sat on the bow facing backwards and held on to the mast. We could have made better speed swimming and towing the boat! We decided to name her Ele after Eleuthera, which is the big island to which Windermere island is attached. Eleuthera also means freedom in Greek and we are certainly free when we are out there on her.

Feb. 24 It was a gray day and the wind was up a bit but it was the day to circumnavigate Big Majors island. John was the captain and I was the ballast again On the back side of the island, we had to tack the length of the island. At the far end, the current had turned against us but the wind was just strong enough to allow us to get around and back home safely.

Feb. 25 The big event of the day was “Italian Day” at Sampson Cay. We went in with Sam & Suzie and met up with Jerry & Andy who had come back up the chain. The pasta and pizza were delicious and so was the white minestrone soup. This kind was new to all of us but tasty. Afterwards, John took suzie and me snorkel shelling behind Sampson and Sam went to help Andy with a generator problem. Later Sam & Suzie came over for more Biriba and a dinner of nuts since we were all full from lunch.

Feb. 26 We went over to Sampson to get food but nothing had been put on the shelves yet. Off to Staniel to do the garbage run and have lunch and try to find some food. I got a chance to solo in the Laser around the harbor which I enjoyed thoroughly. Cocktails were on Mystic with a jolly group of cruisers and a small dinner and a movie was the evening’s entertainment.

Feb. 27 Another beautiful day and time to condense the ship’s stores and take inventory of some of them. After lunch, John made a solo circumnavigtion of Big Majors and a catamaran coming too close caused him to capsize! He had no trouble righting her but we had to wash everything off upon his return. Cocktails and more cards were on SemeZana (Sam & suzie’s boat).
